Sugar Alert

When buying juice for your Mocktails, be sure to read the labels carefully. Labels that say "100% pure juice" do not have any added sugar and are a healthy choice. Be aware that Mocktails made with fruit drinks, fruit punch, fruit cocktails and soda pop are high in sugar and have very little or no nutritional value. Drinks high in sugar can add excess calories to your diet and can increase your chances for tooth decay.

5 to 10 a Day

Eating 5 to 10 servings of vegetables and fruit per day can help reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke. A 1/2 cup serving of a Mocktail made with 100% juice is considered one serving of Vegetables and Fruit. Be sure to enjoy whole fruits more often than juice. Unlike juice, whole fruits are a good source of dietary fiber.
